Health Services

Along with Wesley Chapel's population growth, health care providers and quality health care facilities have expanded into the community as well. Many private practices and clinics have chosen to locate here, and whether the needs are for family practice, chiropractic, pain and stress management, radiology, optometry, lab work, urgent care, dental care, or obstetrics, assistance is nearby. Two east Pasco hospitals are within a half-hour drive of Wesley Chapel.

Pasco Regional Medical Center is a 120-bed acute care facility in Dade City. This facility is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is a two-time recipient of Solucient's 100 Top Hospitals award. The professional staff and caring physicians of Pasco Regional have been providing quality care since 1973.

Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is a 154-bed, full service, mission-driven facility which primarily serves East Pasco County, including Zephyrhills, Dade City, San Antonio, Wesley Chapel and the surrounding area. The award-winning Heart Institute is the only Tampa Bay Area Hospital to receive the 2010 Healthgrades Excellence Award for Coronary Intervention. The only nationally accredited chest pain center in East Pasco County, the Heart Institute is also one of ten nationally accredited heart failure hospitals in the country. Florida Hospital Zephyrhills has expanded and upgraded to an all-digital Emergency Department and our ED physicians are all board certified in emergency medicine. From aggressive treatment in the ED to rehabilitation and wellness, our Primary Stroke Center exceeds the American Stroke Association guidelines. Their new Neuroscience Institute is focusing on treating patients with neurological disorders and injuries, and they have the only NeuroInterventional radiologist on staff in East Pasco County. Their comprehensive Orthopaedic & Spine Institute offers robotic partial knee replacement, general orthopaedics, podiatry and interventional pain medicine. Coming soon, the Comprehensive Breast Center will be bringing all breast health services under one roof.

University Community Hospital (UCH), in north Tampa is also a convenient medical care center for Wesley Chapel residents. It is a 431-bed facility that offers patients access to the most advanced technology and treatment options available.

There is much excitement over the fact that state approval has been received for UCH and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills to build a hospital on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Wesley Chapel as a joint venture. Building of the medical complex is currently underway. Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel is a 52-acre campus and will include office buildings and an 80-bed hospital. 

Other special health needs are provided to the Wesley Chapel community by organizations such as CARES and Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Promoting overall health and wellness, there are a number of gyms, spas, and massage clinics.
